Learn To Skate
This program is open to boys and girls ages 3 to 8. Emphasis is on the fundamental skills of skating, including forwarding skating, turning and stopping, and enjoying physical activity.
This program is a recommended prerequisite to “Learn to Play – Micro” Hockey Program, which is typically a child’s second/third year on the ice.

Open to boys and girls ages 3 - 8.
When
The program runs from mid November through mid-March.
Sessions take place on Saturdays at Noon.
Where
All Learn to Skate sessions are held at the O'Neil rink on Union Street.
Equipment
- Hockey skates
- Hockey helmet
- Please no bicycle helmets, as the helmet should be fitted with a cage or a full-face shield.
- Heavy gloves or mittens
- Knee pads or ski/snow pants
- Elbow pads or winter coat covering/protecting in case of a fall
- Note: No hockey sticks at Learn to Skate Program
2024-2025
Learn to Skate is open to boys and girls ages 3 to 8. Weekly sessions are held at the O'Neil rink in Charlestown. Sessions take place on Saturdays at noon from November 16th through March.
Registration fees are: $180.
